Goals for Dogs

Herself woke this morning, we ate breakfast and then I heard her say to me, "Mystical, I'm going to make a list of goals. One for a month and one for the year" and she sounded very determined.  And when Herself is determined ... then things happen.

Now, I wouldn't know a goal from a poop.  I don't know what it is. I don't know how big it is.  I don't know if goals make noises. Do they smell? I just don't know much about goals.  So, I had to go on the net and look up "goal".  When Herself wants to do something, I usually want to do it with her ... but let's see.  The dictionary says, "the result or achievement toward which effort is directed; aim; an end".  HUH?

Listen ... I don't think dogs are into goals.  We have a very moment to moment way of looking at our lives.  When I'm hungry, I guess then I have a goal to eat.  But once I do, the goal goes away ... I'm not thinking of another goal later in the day ... nope!  My "goals" are very very short term - if that's what they are.

But, I think humans must have lists for things.  Plans. Looking into the future. What they can learn from us is "go with the flow" as long as we're together that's all that matters.

Goals, shmoals ... I'm going to go wait for you by the door and we can talk about this later.

Wait!!!

Was that a goal???
